After his incarnation of the Joker, comedian Joaquin Phoenix will soon be back with a totally different role. It will indeed be on the bill for “C’mon C’mon”, an A24 production, which has just unveiled its trailer.
Joaquin Phoenix: all-round actor
The actor Joaquin Phoenix connects the projects at breakneck speed. Since his incarnation of the Joker in the film of Todd Phillips everyone is tearing it up (even more than before). The actor has his work cut out for him for the next few years. He will notably be on the bill for Disappointment Blvd, which promises to be another role of composition, of Kitbag in the role of Napoleon Bonaparte, potentially from Joker 2, and finally C’mon C’mon.
Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing actor, who has the gift of entering into his roles in an organic and unique way. In more than thirty years of career, the comedian has toured with the greatest directors, whether it is James Gray with The Yards, Two Lovers and The Immigrant ; Joel Schumacher with 8 mm ; Ridley Scott with Gladiator ; M. Night Shyamalan with Signs and The village ; Paul Thomas Anderson with The Master and Inherent Vice ; Woody Allen with The irrational man or even Jacques Audiard with The Sisters Brothers. In short, a totally crazy career which is not ready to end since Joaquin Phoenix will soon be playing at C’mon C’mon.
What’s this C’mon C’mon ?
Directed by Mike Mills, to whom we owe Beginners and 20th Century Women, C’mon C’mon is the next film in the A24 production box. A company very appreciated by film lovers which connects very ambitious and cinematographically speaking projects of a quality that is no longer to be proven. A24 is notably the production box behind films like Heredity, Lady Bird, Uncut Gems, 90’s, The Lighthouse or The Green Knight.

The feature film will therefore see Joaquin Phoenix headlining, as a radio reporter who sets out on a trip across the country with his young nephew. The rest of the cast include Gaby Hoffman, Scoot McNairy, and young Woody Norman. The trailer (available as headliner) promises an ambitious, calm, touching black and white film, who sees Joaquin Phoenix back onscreen for the first time since Joker. Joaquin Phoenix seems to once again deliver a memorable performance, subtle and moderate, smoother than usual. C’mon C’mon does not yet have a release date in France but should see the light of day in November in the United States.
