Don Mancini, the creator of the original Child’s Play series, has released a new teaser poster for the upcoming second season of USA Network and Syfy’s spin-off series Chucky. Chucky’s first season premiered last October to high ratings and critical acclaim. Mancini serves as the series creator, which has seen the return of some of the franchise’s familiar names such as Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise.
Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca serves as executive producer for this series. Chucky was renewed for a second season in November of last year. The poster that Mancini tweeted on his official Twitter page is simple and to the point. The Chucky 2 title sits on the poster with bright red lettering that looks like a billboard. Behind the hood is a subtle image of the killer doll that a viewer is likely to miss if they aren’t paying enough attention. The rest of the poster is black and only has the year 2022 under the title.
The first season of Chucky followed 13-year-old Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur) who buys the killer Good Guy doll from a local yard sale in his town. As Chucky serves Jake as an unlikely confidant and wreaks havoc in town, people from his past have come back to haunt or serve him. The first season had one of the highest-rated premieres on cable television in 2021 and currently has a successful 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Not much is known about Chucky’s second season at the moment, but many sources have hinted that Chucky and Tiffany’s child, Glen/Glenda, who appeared in 2004’s Seed of Chucky, would be coming along this way. No word on when Chucky will begin filming for the second season or whether it will be filmed earlier, but it’s certain that fans of the series will get the show this year.
