For its release scheduled for February 24 on Prime Video, “The Consultant” offers a trailer that whets our appetite. Worn by Christoph Waltz as “the consultant”, the series plunges us into the world of work and its excesses…
A trailer that sets the tone
For his new Serie The Consultant, director Tony Basgallop decided to adapt the eponymous novel by Bentley Little. This American satire depicts the professional world of the company and his harmful inclinations which threaten the individuality and well-being of the employees… In the trailer, the oppressive tone turning to the quasi-horror of the novel is already given to us. The strident violin notes rise crescendo, to the rhythm of Christoph Waltz’s meticulous, even manic movements. The initial void in which he stands is gradually replaced by the appearance ofabnormal events : positions of force, inappropriate attitudes, threats, kidnapping, violence…

A rise in power which leaves in a misunderstanding, by a obvious discrepancy between norm and drift. The question then arises: how is such a brutal and improbable evolution possible? The trailer gives us clues, but the series will offer us the answers…
A multifaceted Christoph Waltz
This descent into hell is obviously related tointrusive arrival of the protagonist: the consultant. Announced from the first frame as a troubled and multiple individualhis presence goes like this upset the balance administrative of the company, and the personal balance of its employees.

Playing a double-dealing, smiling on the one hand and threatening on the other, the trailer thus offers us a Christoph Waltz always able to play roles full of irony and the unspoken. Her deceit is then reminiscent of his role as SS colonel in Inglourious Basterds, where cruelty and politeness were intertwined. To discover with The Consultant if this unsympathetic character will therefore cross the limits of horror to go even further…
