Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale, who plays very different characters in the films he plays and manages to make them all believable, has made his last film “AmsterdamDuring the filming of “”
Directed by David O. Russell and starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington.Amsterdam”follows three friends who become suspects in a murder they witnessed and uncover one of the ugliest plots in American history. One of the film’s rich cast members is Chris Rock.
In an interview with Indiewire, Christian Bale told Chris Rock that he couldn’t get into the role because of laughing during filming, and that he eventually found the solution to completely isolate himself from him. Bale said that he was excited to meet The Rock on his first day on set because he was a big fan of his stand-up show.
david [O. Russell] told him to tell me some stories I didn’t know he was going to tell as he often does. And I loved it. But Chris is so funny that I realized I couldn’t act. I was laughing at him. So I had to go to him, ‘Dude, I love talking to you and we have mutual friends but I can’t anymore. Because David didn’t ask me to act in this movie just to watch me giggle. ‘He wants me to be Burt and I’m laughing at forgetting how to be Burt,’ I said.
Bale, who adopted method acting and never hesitated to go to extremes for the characters he played, stated that he did not blame Rock for this, but that he had to isolate himself from him in order to stay in the character. In fact, isolating himself from other actors is not something Bale has done for the first time in this film, it is a routine part of his acting process. Bale says, “Because if I get to know people too much, I find that I don’t believe in what I’m doing on stage.” he explains.
