Chris Pratt will be Garfield’s new voice. After recently joining the vocal cast of “Super Mario Bros. », The actor continues to indulge in dubbing since he will be the new voice of the cat fan of lasagna!
Garfield : a new film is on the way
Garfield is an animated series, but above all a series of comics created by Jim Davis in the 1970s. The cat is also the hero of two perfectly forgettable feature films. Released in 2004, and directed by Peter Hewitt, the sole interest of Garfield Bill Murray certainly remains. Indeed, at the time, then in Garfield 2 (2006), he is the actor Bill Murray who lent his voice to the iconic red cat. A role that will be singled out much later during the post-credits scene of Back to Zombieland.
Despite hateful critical feedback, the films Garfield performed pretty well at the box office. The first opus has indeed brought back more than $ 203 million in revenue for a budget of $ 50 million, while the second brought in more than $ 143 million at the box office. Now Hollywood is preparing a new movie Garfield, but this time in the form of animation. The feature film will be directed by Mark Dindal, the director of Chicken Little, on a screenplay by David Reynolds, the pen behind The world of Nemo.
Chris Pratt in the lead role
After presenting Garfield in a live version, Hollywood now believes that the cat has more of a place in an animated universe. To give the project some visibility, Garfield, which will be produced by Sony Pictures and Alcon Entertainment, will have Chris Pratt as headliner. The star of Guardians of the Galaxy is therefore trying to dub animated films. Indeed, the actor will also lend his voice to Mario in Super Mario Bros., a new adaptation of the cult video game.

This new adaptation of Garfield does not yet have a release date. But Hollywood’s desire to return to the animated format can only be beneficial for this cult cat, lasagna lover and hates Mondays. As for Chris Pratt, he will soon be appearing at Jurassic World: The Next World and of Thor: Love and Thunder.
