For its 35 years on this Earth, Castlevania is celebrating. Once again, the nostalgic are the heart of the target. And more particularly music lovers.
Konami has announced the marketing from December 15 of a collection of music from the Castlevania series. We should rather say THE collection, since it is a CD anthology bringing together the soundtracks of 36 games of the Akumajo Dracula lineage – Japanese name for Castlevania. You will surely understand, for the moment, the offer only concerns the archipelago.
Two boxes, two eras
The editor offers on his Konami Style store to buy the complete for 28,600 Yen (around 220 euros). This actually includes two boxes of 13 CDs, following a logical distribution. The first, in its black scabbard, will bring together the OSTs of 25 titles ranging from the original game to Dracula’s Curse, including Kid Dracula and Rondo of Blood. And even Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. The second, blood red, flies over 11 games over the period from Symphony of the Night to Harmony of Despair. In all, the counter goes up to 977 pieces. Nice bonus on the pre-order, another CD of 14 MIDI arrangements from Castlevania: Dracula X (Vampire’s Kiss). It is quite possible to get one and the other separately, for 14,300 Yen (around 110 euros), especially on the Japanese Amazon site.
Castlevania: a premonitory news?
The news has been stirring around Castlevania for a few weeks now. After the new release of Grimoire of Souls in Premium version on the Apple Arcade, the little wave has published a very interesting compilation. Castlevania Advance Collection has been available for a few days. Tested by us, and our dark circles, the reunion of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, to which is added Vampire’s Kiss is a very good reason to dive back into a license that does not no longer offered large-caliber production for a long time. But will the success of the Netflix series finally make the leaders of Tokyo society think? Because hey, many of us have fangs.
