Four years after ending his film career, Cameron Diaz will find a film set with a Netflix action comedy. She will be accompanied by Jamie Foxx.
The face of the 90s and 2000s
Cameron Diaz made us dream during the 1990s and 2000s. From his first film, in 1994 with The Maskshe pulled out all the stops. Alongside Jim Carrey, the actress revealed herself in sulfurous Tina, a true Tex Avery pin-up. Behind, she chained the roles, mainly in romantic comedies (like The Wedding of my best friend). But the actress does not lack a certain self-mockery and proves it with the awesome Mary at all cost (1998). She proves that she can be particularly funny in absurd situations. Like in that famous “gel in the hair” scene.
In the end, in the space of five years (from 1994 to 1999), Cameron Diaz participates in 14 films, and not least! Of particular note is the black comedy very bad things (1998) and the Very Strange In the skin of John Malkovich (1999) in which she composes with more complex roles. The 2000s were just as fruitful for her with Charlie and his Charlie’s Angels (2000) alongside Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, Vanilla Sky (2001), Gangs of New York (2002) without forgetting Shrek (2001). It is indeed she who lends her voice (in VO) to Fiona in the saga.
Unfortunately, the 2010s go less well and Cameron Diaz goes on to critical failures in films that do not work as expected at the box office. She still has the opportunity to offer one of his best performances with Cartel (2013). Not enough, however, to keep her in the spotlight for years to come. She then announces, to everyone’s surprise, that she ends his film career in 2018. An official retirement that lasted four years. Because we learn today that the actress will finally make her comeback!
Cameron Diaz is finally back!
Deadline indeed announces that Cameron Diaz has agreed to return for an upcoming Netflix movie titled Back in Action. The feature film will be an action comedy whose plot remains unknown. For the occasion, it will be directed by Seth Gordon (How to kill his Boss?). But above all, at his side, we will find the star Jamie Foxx. The actor took the opportunity to share on Twitter a recording ofa conversation he had with the actress. And to reassure her about her return, Jamie Foxx appealed to the immense American football champion Tom Brady, who also had announced his retirement before finally returning to the field.
We feel as much excitement on the side of Jamie Foxx as Cameron Diaz. Of course we will have to wait and see Back in Action to be able to judge him. But we admit to being delighted to find the actress, whose last role (in a feature film) dates back to 2014. We do not yet know when the film will be released on Netflix.
