Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will take another step in customization

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 wants to shake up its charm on the customization side with a more in-depth and realistic weapon system. Explanations.

The Gunsmith menu is a recent addition to the Call of Duty license and it appeared in the Modern Warfare episode of 2019. On the occasion of the release of episode 2, the developers at Infinity Ward want to push the vice even further further and bring even more depth via a Gunsmith 2.0.

On this picture you can go from an M4 receiver to an M16 receiver with the addition of a handle. You can also change the handguard to make it a 556 Icarus.

As you can see in the video above, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tool looks even more comprehensive. The changes are made in particular by taking into account the feedback from the community, and for that alone we can salute the developers. The biggest change to note is being able to change the family of one and the same weapon by changing the receiver. To switch for example from an assault rifle to an SMG. The most notable example is the possibility of transforming an AR15 (M4 in game) into an AR9 or switching from an AR15 to a DMR by adding the appropriate equipment (change of caliber, etc.). In short things that are possible in reality with time and knowledge to add a little more immersion to this Call of Duty.

Unlike previous years where each weapon is a separate family, weapon platforms streamline progression, just this element is a small revolution in itself. Changing the receiver of a weapon completely changes the characteristics of the weapon but it is still the same platform.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be available on October 28 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC.
