Spider-Man No Way Home ends the cinema year as leader, well beyond 4 million admissions, and is therefore ahead of Dying Can Wait, which was at the top of the annual record. Tous en scene 2 starts well, followed by Matrix 4, in 3rd position.
BOX-OFFICE FROM DECEMBER 15 TO 21, 2021: THE TOP 10
End of reign for James Bond! Spiderman detrone Mourir can wait for 1st place at the 2021 box office a few days before the end of the year.
At the end of this holiday weekend and school holidays, Spider-Man No Way Home won first place in 2021 by accumulating more than 4.6 million spectators in just 2 weeks of presence in French theaters.
James Bond, so far first in the 2021 ranking with Dying Can Wait, also crossed the 4 million admissions mark.
The 2021 ranking is therefore upset just two days before the end of the year. Spider-Man is first, followed by Die Can Wait. Dune moved up to 3rd place. Kaamelott is at the foot of the podium, and finally, Bac Nord, 5th.
In addition to becoming No. 1 of 2021, Spider-Man No Way Home also becomes the most viewed film in France since the start of the pandemic. Also remember that the Marvel blockbuster has exceeded one billion worldwide box office receipts.
In the sequel to the weekly box office, note the very good start of All in scene 2, whose first week is better than the first part, and this in a messed up context and facing strong competition from Spider-Man. Either a performance to salute. The animated film already exceeds one million admissions in a week.
Always on the new side, Matrix Resurrections is 3rd with just over 500,000 tickets sold in one week. It is, by far, the worst start to the franchise. No other novelty manages to reach the Top 10 this week.
In 4th position, we find The Tuche 4, which is no longer very far from 2 million admissions, at the end of its 3rd week of operation. Encanto, the new Disney, has just exceeded 2 million.
The rest of the ranking is occupied by other family films, in various genres: the French comedy My dearest children, the animal fiction film Mystery, the animated film Clifford, musical comedy West Side Story reviewed by Steven Spielberg, and finally the documentary The Snow Leopard.
