One day, his mysterious neighbor lets him into a big secret. This leads Charlie straight on an adventure to a strange land where powerful creatures are at liberty. The downtrodden population sees Charlie as a savior, but before he can change anything he must save the princess who is the rightful ruler of the fairytale world.

With “Fairy Tale”, Stephen King is responsible for a fantasy adventure over almost 900 pages, with which the writer fulfilled a heart’s desire and wrote a story that was set in a completely fairy-tale environment. Of course, the obligatory king motifs and crossways can also be discovered here. Either way, Fairy Tale is stuff that could work on the big screen (or streaming screen). It’s loud that an adaptation will come deadline thing already decided.
“Fairy Tale” will be directed by Paul Greengrass, who has not exactly been responsible for the realization of fantastic material in the past. Instead, hyper-realistic action thrillers like “Green Zone”, “The Bourne Ultimatum” or “Captain Phillips” dominate his work. Greengrass himself called “Fairy Tale” a “terrific work” that represents “a classic adventure story and at the same time a disturbing contemporary allegory”.
Stephen King has also already commented on the choice of director as follows deadline reported: “Needless to say, I’m a Paul Greengrass fan and think he’s a wonderful choice for this film.”
For us too, “Fairy Tale” is now one of the more interesting Stephen King film adaptations, because in Greengrass a filmmaker was found who not only stands for dynamism, but also has a knack for the inner workings of his characters, just like his western ” News from the World” starring Tom Hanks”.
Stephen King has also commented on the inspiration behind the novel: “I saw a huge deserted city – deserted but alive. I saw the empty streets, the haunted buildings, a gargoyle head lying upside down on the street. I saw shattered statues (which I didn’t know, but I eventually found out). I saw a huge, sprawling palace with glass towers so tall their tops pierced the clouds. I saw a magical sundial that could turn back time. These images brought out the story I wanted to tell.”
