The return of Blade to the cinema is not for tomorrow and the development is stalling. With the loss of the director, it is not said that the feature film can honor its release date.
The next Blade movie no longer has a director
The new Blade movie, which will be without Wesley Snipes but with Mahershala Ali (Green Book: On the roads of the south, Alita: Battle Angel) in the main role, continues the disappointments. Bassam Tariq will not be directing the Marvel Studios feature film, which was supposed to start filming within a month.
The director and the firm parted ways on good terms. The departure of Bassam Tariq would be due, according to a comment from Marvel, to a production schedule concern.
Due to ongoing changes in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer directing Blade but will remain attached to the film as executive producer. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done to bring Blade to where it is.

It was an honor to work with the wonderful people at Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. I can’t wait to see where the next director will take the film.

The “continuous changes” would be mainly due to a script that does not advance.
A meager and bland script, Mahershala Ali frustrated
According to the journalist Jeff Sneiderwho has written for several serious film publications, the current script written by Beau DeMayo (Moon Knight) would only be about 90 pages. Worse, it is said to contain only “two uninspired action scenes”. It is also reported that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, would be “too scattered”. A very complicated development process that would frustrate Mahershala Ali.
Blade is scheduled in French theaters on November 1, 2023, for now…
