Blade: the chaotic project is confirmed. Marvel reacts!

It is now sure and certain, nothing is going well for the next Blade movie with Mahershala Ali (Spider-Man Next Generation, Alita: Battle Angel).

Marvel Studios puts the Blade movie on hold

Filming for the new Blade movie, which should have started in November at Atlantawill not happen. The Hollywood Reporter indeed reports that production is on hold until things work out. A month before shooting, the feature film lost its director Bassam Tariq, and obviously no replacement was found in such a short time.

Due to ongoing changes in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer directing Blade but will remain attached to the film as executive producer. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done to bring Blade to where it is.

Optimists, Marvel Studios and Disney hope, however, to be able to return to the film sets from the beginning of 2023. But inevitably, this unforeseen break upsets the schedule of MCU films. While Blade was guaranteed to have a release on November 3, 2023, it will finally arrive on September 6, 2024 in theaters. Provided that by then, everything is arranged.

Previously, journalist Jeff Sneider had reported a simply chaotic project. Riquiqui script with uninviting action scenes, a producer too scattered and a lead actor frustrated with the whole process, nothing was right. To see if the firm of Mickey will manage to straighten the bar.
