Black Adam : Dwayne Johnson becomes a superhero
After arriving at the cinema in The Return of the Mummy, his multiple roles as testosterone vigilantes (Zero tolerance, Faster), his confrontation and his eventful collaboration with Vin Diesel in the saga Fast & Furious or his hilarious foray into Michael Bay (No Pain No Gain), Dwayne Johnson plays his first superhero in Black Adam. The former wrestler lends his features to the character created by Otto Binder and CC Beck, freed from his grave and ready to take his revenge in the modern world after five millennia of imprisonment.
Viola Davis, Sarah Shahi, Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell complete the distribution of the blockbuster orchestrated by Jaume Collet-Serra, to which we owe in particular Esther, The Passenger or Jungle Cruise. Spectators only have a few days to wait before discovering it, since the feature film will be released on October 19, 2022 in dark rooms.

In the film’s post-credits sequence, Black Adam comes face to face with the Man of Steel. The latter, still played by Henry Cavill, launches:

A touch of humor that announces a future fight between the two DC figures. Superman’s appearance in Black Adam is not really a surprise, since Dwayne Johnson did not cease to sow doubt and to raise the excitement of the fans during all the promotional campaign.
The new flight of Superman to the cinema?
In 2013, seven years after being interpreted by Brandon Routh in Superman Returnsthe most famous Kryptonian returns to the cinema with man of steel. Based on a story by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan, directed by Zack Snyder, the feature film goes back the origins of Kal-El, retracing in particular his birth, the destruction of his planet and his arrival on Earth. A blockbuster mixing intimate sequences, especially when he discusses his relationship with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) or that with his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan (Kevin Costner), and scenes of mass destruction.
Since then, Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent has faced Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After their confrontation, they joined forces with those of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), then with those ofAquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) in Justice League. A sick project, marked by the departure of Zack Snyder after the suicide of his daughter and the stormy arrival of Joss Whedon. If the DC Universe continued in the cinema with for example Wonder Woman 1984Henry Cavill was not no longer reappeared in Superman costume since 2017if we set aside Zack Snyder’s Justice Leaguedirector’s version of 300 released largely thanks to fan mobilization.
These latter also demanded the return of the actor in the skin of the superhero for a long time. A request noticed by Dwayne Johnson, who recalled on Twitter last July 1 that he never takes the expectations of the public lightly. What feed a little more hope for a possible comeback of Henry Cavill in the DC Universe … which finally takes place in Black. An appearance which obviously gives hope for a new flight of Superman.
