Comedian Dwayne Johnson is absolutely convinced that his character, Black Adam, will take on the mighty Superman in a future DC Extended Universe (DCEU) project. But he doesn’t know exactly who will be the interpreter of the Man of Steel.
Black adam : a role dear to Dwayne Johnson
The film centered on Black Adam, the enemy of Shazam directed by Jaume Collet-Serra is due on July 27, 2022 in theaters. It is Dwayne Johnson who lends his features to this ambiguous anti-hero. The feature film will feature other iconic characters from the DC universe such as Hawkman, played by Aldis Hodge and Dr. Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan. This is a project to which Dwayne Johnson, a big fan of the character and more broadly of the DC universe, is very keen on.
Dwayne Johnson Wants His Fuck With Superman
A name comes up regularly to take on Black Adam. And against all odds, it’s not about Shazam. Dwayne Johnson thinks bigger and just wants to take on Superman. The two characters have faced each other regularly in the comics, usually culminating in a Man of Steel victory. In a recent interview with Total Film, Dwayne Johnson has shown himself to be absolutely convinced that his character will fight Superman at some point. The comedian, however, clarified that he does not know who could be the actor in the clothes of the Kryptonian. Suggesting thus, that, perhaps, it will no longer be Henry Cavill, the current Superman:
Let’s make sure we follow tradition and mythology, but don’t get creatively handcuffed. We can do anything while following the wishes of the public. So for me, there is a battle that is going to unfold someday, between Black Adam and Superman. I don’t know which Superman it will be, and I don’t know who will play him. But I don’t need to know that now. This is what the fans want.
For the moment, such a fight is not yet planned. DC and Warner don’t really know what to do with Superman. Henry Cavill regularly hesitates to remain under the cloak of the vigilante, and no project concerning Superman is for the moment in the boxes of the firm. However, the DCEU continues to expand, with, for example, the projects: The Flash (November 2, 2022), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 14, 2022), Shazam: Fury of the Gods (June 2, 2023) and therefore Black adam (July 27, 2022).
