After five high-flying seasons, “Better Call Saul” will bow out in a final season consisting of 13 episodes. Enough to know what happened to Jimmy McGill and, also, perhaps above all, to Kim Wexler. Recently, actress Rhea Seehorn announced on Twitter that we could expect to be “devastated” …
Better call saul, among the best
Could we do as well or better than breaking Bad ? Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, co-creators of this spin-off series, have made the bet and so far they have not been wrong! Better call saul is a great critical and commercial success, with increasing quality during the five seasons already broadcast on AMC in the United States and on Netflix in our case.
Centered on the character of Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), the awesome and crooked lawyer discovered in breaking Bad, Better call saul deviated from the original format to tell first a family drama, the exploration of a morally ambiguous character, before gradually relating to the intrigues seen in breaking Bad. An exceptional series that offers a new perspective, allows to explore more deeply old characters and to present new ones, like that of Kim wexler.
Kim is in Better call saul Jimmy McGill’s colleague, his partner and then his partner. Straight, benevolent, hardworking, she will gradually be drawn to the dark side, although Jimmy does everything to keep her away. Another main character of this spin-off, its actress Rhea Seehorn shines in this original role because absent from breaking Bad. Hence this burning question: what happens to him at the end of Better call saul ?
One word: “devastating”
We know what happens, for a while at least, to Jimmy. We also know what happens to Gus and Michael, both finding an end in Breaking Bad. But for other characters of Better call saul, the mystery is complete, and all eyes are on Kim Wexler. The actress, who has hitherto handled the tongue well to reveal nothing, however recently took the liberty of announcing on Twitter that the conclusion of the show would be “devastating”.
A moving end scheduled for the start of 2022
Obviously, everyone is worried about Kim. Married recently to Jimmy, identified by the great antagonist of the moment Lalo Salamanca, determined to go to the end, her future is more than uncertain, and her fate may well end in a dramatic way. In this Breaking Universe where cruelty and violence are the order of the day, nothing guarantees a happy ending, quite the contrary. Will she leave safe and sound? Is she going to die? Can she betray? The bets are open.
Either way, the final season will be emotional. We will say goodbye to one of the best series of past years, a monument which will have notably exceeded in number of episodes its mother series (63 vs 62). Also, we will keep in mind the heart attack of Bob Odenkirk which occurred in the heart of the summer and which had greatly worried fans around the world. According to information from Variety, the 13 new episodes will arrive somewhere in the first quarter of 2022, and will be divided into two parts. Impatience is at a very, very high level!
