TF1 is broadcasting this evening “Belle, belle, belle”, a romantic comedy adapted from the film “I Feel Pretty”, which follows a young woman who suddenly believes she has turned into a canon of beauty …
What is it about ?
Alice is in her thirties full of complexes. She finds herself ugly and fat, and her lack of self-confidence prevents her from undertaking anything, professionally or emotionally. Following a fall on her head, she wakes up convinced that she has become, as if by magic, a sublime girl.
Armed with this brand new self-confidence, nothing can resist her: she gets the job of her dreams and meets love in the person of Benjamin. But what will happen if this illusion goes away? Will Alice be able to keep that self-esteem that has been so lacking in her until then?
Belle, belle, belle is broadcast this Monday, August 23 from 9:05 p.m. on TF1 and is already available in preview on Salto.
Who is it with?
In the main role, we find Joséphine Draï, actress and comedian who has made a name for herself in Paris at all costs and Babysitting 2. In 2018, she starred in Plan Coeur, Netflix’s romantic series alongside Zita Hanrot , Sabrina Ouazani and Marc Ruchmann. She also finds the latter in Belle, belle, belle.
Arié Elmaleh, for his part, plays Benjamin, the future lover of Alice and Reem Kherici (30 Days max, La Bande à Fifi), plays Capucine Chastaing, granddaughter of Lili Chastaing, a powerful woman at the head of a brand of successful cosmetics, which is embodied by Macha Méril.
Catherine Hosmalin (Slim then!), Déborah Lukumuena (Mental), Suzanne de Baecque (Les éblouis) and Audrey Pirault complete the cast.
On the production side, Anne Depetrini once again goes behind the camera after her experiences on School is over and There is still ham. Yaël Berdugo and Nathalie Levy-Lang, who previously worked on Parents manual, are in charge of the scenarios.
Well worth a look ?
Adapted from I Feel Pretty, an American film available on Netflix, Belle, belle, belle follows Alice, a young woman with a cruel lack of self-confidence that prevents her from doing anything. Her life will change when, after a bad fall, she firmly believes that she has magically become a cannon of beauty.
She will now say goodbye to all her complexes and dare to pursue her dreams, by applying for the job of her dreams, by flirting with a complete stranger in the street, or even by wearing clothes that she could not afford … But this new Alice is not necessarily going to please her family and loved ones, who can no longer see in her the person they loved.
Despite her very light tone, Belle, belle, belle does not hesitate to tackle social issues at the heart of the debate in recent years, in particular the pressure placed on women to achieve beauty standards that are often inaccessible.

If some scenes are sometimes awkward, and we could also deplore the fact that, despite all her complexes, Joséphine Draï is not really out of the “norm”, this comedy still manages to send us a message and to give us a little boost in self-confidence that feels good at a time when all the women’s press is giving advice on how to achieve the perfect “bikini body”.
Rather faithful to the original, this French version of the film with Amy Schumer relies mainly on the personality of Joséphine Draï who is perfect in this role. She is radiant and brings a lot of freshness and humor to the character of Alice.
It’s almost for her that we stay in front of our screen for the duration of Belle, belle, belle. On the side of supporting roles, Arié Elmaleh is not left out, and seems to have found its register in the romantic comedy. He is excellent in this role of a little shy looser who will fall in love with Alice. The Arié Elmaleh / Joséphine Draï couple is also the strength of Belle, belle, belle.

If we could make one criticism of the film, it would be the development of the supporting characters. The original film, lasting 1h50, gives way here to a TV movie of only 1h30 … and these 20 minutes …
