You demanded it, hoped for it, and maybe even dreamed it: that’s it, Bayonetta 3 has been a reality for a few days that we can admire from every angle.
But we couldn’t cut it: the return of the beloved witch inevitably came with what could affectionately be called a calamity (or plague of Egypt for melodrama lovers): executive director Hideki Kamiya came out of his reserve. Did you expect the worst? U.S. too !
Now I’m in the mood for a fight
The key figure of Platinum Games, who regularly enjoys blocking everything on so-called social networks or announcing without warning the return of a (another) goddess who was no longer expected, took advantage of the broadcast of a first gameplay trailer in due form from Nintendo Direct last week to finally officially resume the word around the most anticipated beat’em all of the editorial staff.
Generally renowned for his ability to quickly take the fly, Kamiya reminded the somewhat lost players of what the Bayonetta series owed to a famous Japanese manufacturer., an assertion that he has been repeating over and over for several years:
As was the case with Bayonetta 2, we are developing Bayonetta 3 with funding from Nintendo. We only take care of the development part, all decisions around the game as a product are theirs. Please feel free to send them your porting requests to other consoles. If Nintendo asked us to develop Bayonetta 3 on PS5, we could.
I imagine that the possibility of Bayonetta 2 or 3 coming to PS5 or Xbox is not impossible, it is a decision for Nintendo. With the same type of reasoning, games stamped Mario or Zelda could also be ported to PS5. I wish you in advance the best of luck in writing your pleadings … If I were you, I would just buy a Switch.
So here we are reassured: one of the most famous gun holders in our small industry seems to be back, and time does not seem to have cut its pen a bit bitter.
While waiting to find out if a few smart kids will bite the hook of the portage, remember that Bayonetta 3 is (finally) announced for 2022 on Switch.
