The American star joins the cast of season 2 of the HBO Max-produced “The Flight Attendant” series as Lisa Bowden, the mother of the tortured heroine played by Kaley Cuoco.
In season 1 of The Flight Attendant, Flight attendant Cassandra Bowden wakes up one morning hungover in a Bangkok hotel room, next to the corpse of a man. For fear of being accused of murder, she flees and tries to escape the police while trying to find out the truth: who wanted to trap her?
Led by Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory), the series was renewed for a season 2 by HBO Max after being acclaimed by audiences and critics. We will find “Cassie”, now sober, installed in Los Angeles and working as an informant for the CIA in her spare time after being recruited by Agent Hammond (Merle Dandridge).
But when a mission abroad leads her to witness a murder in spite of herself, Cassie finds herself once again embroiled in an international plot … but also has to deal with the unexpected return of her mother. After years of trying to get Cassie out of her alcoholism, Lisa Bowden has lost all kindness and no longer has any patience with her daughter. A reunion that promises to be electric!
After her mother was briefly seen in season 1 in a flashback sequence to Cassie’s childhood where she was played by Morgan Hallett, she will this time be played by Sharon Stone, who joins the cast for season 2 in as a guest according to the site Deadline.
A news shared by Kaley Cuoco in a post on her Instagram account, with a photo of the star and her in a moment of complicity. “Hi mum, I love you! Really what a life I lead“she comments with humor.
Becoming a Hollywood star in the 1990s with the films Basic Instinct and Casino (for which she received the Oscar for Best Actress), Sharon Stone has made several forays into the series in recent years, including Steven Soderbergh’s Mosaic, The New Pope by Paolo Sorrentino and Ratched by Ryan Murphy in 2020 on Netflix.
She will be accompanied during this second season by Mo McRae (Sons of Anarchy), Callie Hernandez (Soundtrack), JJ Soria (Army Wives), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jessie Ennis (Mythic Quest), Mae Martin (Feel Good) ) and Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva) who join the cast.
Broadcast in France on Warner TV last year, The Flight Attendant will arrive on TF1 in 2022. The release date for season 2 on HBO Max has not yet been revealed.
