TRT co-production “Bandırma Missile Club”, which brings Turkey’s space race to the big screen, will be in theaters on Friday, 21 October!



The movie “Bandırma Missile Club” directed by Ömer Faruk Sorak will be released on October 21. Bringing Turkey’s beginning of the space race to the big screen, the film is about a true story that happened.
“Bandırma Missile Club” is about a community that started as a high school club in Bandırma, Balıkesir, developed enough to enter the amateur space race with America and Russia, and has written its name in the history of our country with golden letters. At the end of the 1950s, the leading roles in the movie, adapted to the cinema from the lives of high school students who made us enter among the countries that sent missiles into space for the first time; There are valuable actors such as Alina Boz, Denizcan Aktaş, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Aslı Bekiroğlu, Öykü Gürman, Gökhan Yıkılkan, Görkem Sevindik and Altan Erkekli.
The plot of the movie is briefly as follows: After the Soviets sent the Sputnik Satellite to space in 1957, high school student Umut’s dreams of reaching the sky and space rise again. Umut embarks on a journey to the sky, to space, and eventually to NASA, where he will lose his great love Leyla, with the Bandırma Missile Club, which he founded with his girlfriend Leyla, his best friends Hasan and Mustafa, his clarinet and Bandırma’s joy Gypsy Necati.
