8th Balkan Panorama Film Festival will be held in Izmir between 21 – 27 May 2022
The 8th Balkan Panorama Film Festival, supported by the TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will be hosted by the Municipality of Buca, and over 150 films will be screened in more than 250 sessions during a week.
Within the scope of the festival, screenings, talks and events will be held at the Buca Municipality Culture and Art Center (Pink Mansion), in the open air at İzmir Kültürpark (Lozan Gate), and in three movie theaters at the Tarık Akan Youth Center. Film screenings will continue until 1 am. During the festival, 4 television channels broadcasting in 9 Balkan countries will broadcast from İzmir.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Mispah Demircan, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, Cinema General Manager Erkin Yılmaz, Buca Municipality Mayor Erhan Kılıç, Hungarian and Serbian Ambassadors, Festival Presidents as well as nearly 150 local and foreign cinema artists are expected to attend the opening.
JURY MEMBERS ANNOUNCED
Five separate juries will give the Yellow Umbrella awards in 11 different branches, national and international. For the Yellow Umbrella National Feature Film Competition of this year’s festival; director Özcan Alper, actress Dolunay Soysert and Serbian actress Nataša Ninković were selected as jury members.
For the Yellow Umbrella International Feature Film Competition; Montenegrin director Nikola VukcevicNorth Macedonian player Meto Jovanovski and Bosnia and Herzegovina player Fedja SToukan was chosen as a member of the jury. In both competitions, the Yellow Umbrella Award will be awarded for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor.
Yellow Umbrella for Dario Moreno Feature Film Competition; Slovenian director Andrej Košak, Croatian actress Judita Franković Brdar and actress Tamer Levent were selected as jury members. For the Yellow Umbrella National Short Film Competition; director Murat Şenoy, actress Yeliz Kuvancı and actress Hande Katipoğlu were selected as jury members.
Finally, for the Yellow Umbrella International Short Film Competition; director Sevgi Hirschhauser, actress İnanç Konukçu and actress Tuğrul Tülek were selected as jury members. The Yellow Umbrella Award for Best Film will be awarded in all three competitions.
SCREENINGS WILL BE FREE
All screenings, talks and events will be open to the public and free of charge during the festival. However, the age limit for the screenings at the festival +18 has been determined.
