Baldur’s Gate 3 offers its new update: patch 9. The opportunity to add a new cult class for the license. This is what we know.
Larian Studios has revealed the 9th major Early Access update for Baldur’s Gate 3 in the live stream Panel From Hell: Holy Knight presented by Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards host. This update notably includes a highly anticipated new class: the Paladin.
Baldur’s Gate 3 gets the Paladin
The Paladin is not new to Baldur’s Gate 3 since he was already appearing in BG1. A fervent devotee, this class is a bit of a combo master with always something to protect the group with a spell or two. This one benefits from two sub-classes of which you will find the official description below:
Oath of devotion
True to the ideal of the armored knight, Paladins act with honor and virtue to protect the weak and defend the common good.
Sacred Retaliation: Players can call on their oath to grant an aura of vengeance to an ally that deals 1d4 radiant damage to anyone who hits it with a melee attack.
Oath of the Elders
Paladins who tread this path fight on the side of light in the eternal struggle of good against darkness, swearing to uphold the sanctity of life and the beauty of nature.
Healing radiation: Players can call on their oath for nature to heal nearby allies.
divine punishment : When a player uses a melee attack, they can choose to spend a spell slot to deal radiant damage to the target in addition to their weapon damage.
In addition, this new patch is the opportunity for the player to be able to raise his character up to level 5, which allows a significant increase in power. Finally, it allows you to take advantage of the function of the flight spell which can be used both during a fight and in a calmer phase. Players can spread their wings and fly to treasures otherwise normally out of reach.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available in early access and its final release is scheduled for August 2023.
