Babylon’s Fall dead and buried? PlatinumGames reacts

Despite the almost total abandonment of its first game service, PlatinumGames will continue to water the twenty players of Babylon’s Fall of new content.

The fiasco of Babylon’s Fall doesn’t seem to shake Square Enix. While the game was at the bottom of the hole a few weeks ago with only one active player, and only about twenty at the time of writing these lines, the Japanese publisher does not seem to want to abandon the game anytime soon.

PlatinumGames doesn’t want to give up Babylon’s Fall

Does Square Enix know when to let go? Shortly after the launch of Babylon’s Fall, PlatinumGames said it was continuing to work on updates and new content. This was before its playerbase completely plummeted to the point where the title was completely deserted just a few days ago. However, neither Square Enix nor the developers seem to panic about a catastrophic launch.

In a new interview, the game directors said they want to keep improving the quality of Babylon’s Fall on PC and PlayStation consoles. And it should start with new content from Season 2.

In Season 2, we move away for the first time from the Tower of Babylon and that will largely be the heart of the story. There will also be a new type of weapon and I hope you will be excited at this announcement. It feels like it’s going to bring more responsive and satisfying action-oriented gameplay. We’ll also be adding limited-time events, so it’s going to be an exciting season.

Upcoming improvements and content

This in itself is not a surprise since the content of Season 2 was already almost completed last month. PlatinumGames had even started working on the next one. Still, the studio only mentions upcoming content, nothing beyond that. The developers nevertheless undertake to satisfy the handful of remaining fans.

This is our first time developing and modifying content after launch, so we need to prioritize player feedback above everything else. This made us realize that Babylon’s Fall is as much a service as it is a product in its own right.

In this same interview, the developers apologize to the players and say that they will “ccontinue to bring even more fixes and improvements in addition to all the new content that will be released soon “. When is this Season 2 going to arrive exactly? There is still no release date, only a “very soon”. Not sure that it will bring back the crowds, but PlatinumGames is determined not to reduce the sails.
