Ayvalık International Film Festival aims to walk a long way in Ayvalık, which offers an ideal environment with its history, culture, architecture, cuisine, location, and sensitive residents. Unlike other film festivals in Turkey, the festival, which does not contain a competition, seeks to create a space for discussion of current social issues through film screenings, panels and talks.
Film students coming from all corners of Turkey will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the industry and gain experience in the workshops where they will meet with participants from the cinema industry while taking part in the festival organization. Hoping to rank among Turkey’s leading festivals, the Ayvalık International Film Festival seeks an answer to the question of how the city and the festival can complement each other.
The logo of the Ayvalık International Film Festival was inspired by the Poyraz wind, the waves in the sea, and the historical heritage of Ayvalık.
