It’s a barbaric and hilarious theory that’s been rocking the web for years. Indeed, why didn’t Ant-Man blast Thanos… from within in ” Avengers Endgame”? His interpreter Paul Rudd answers the question, without filter.
Ant-Man: impressive powers
When we think of the superheroes of the Marvel universe, we often cite Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor or even Wolverine. However, we tend to forget Ant-Man is one of the most important characters that Stan Lee’s stable created. Indeed, the superhero, born in 1962, is the co-founder of Avengers in the comics. Besides being an eminent biochemist and one of the most intelligent beings in the universe Marvelthe latter has a costume that is simply amazing.
Thus, in connection with his super-heroic pseudonym, Ant-Man can reduce his size, until reaching that of an ant. (he can even shrink down to a microscopic level, which projects him into a subatomic universe). However, even tiny, he keeps the same physical strength and the same power than a normal-sized individual. Ant-Man can also expand, becoming a Giant. This was seen in particular in Captain America: Civil War.
Since the release of the MCU films, the general public has been able to discover the amazing powers of the superhero, although they are vastly underrated if we compare them to those he deploys in the comics. One of them could have savagely killed Thanos during the final confrontation of the Avengers against the Mad Titan in Avengers :Endgame.
No petroleum jelly
Since the release of the cult film, many theories and hypotheses have terrified Internet users on how the Avengers could have easily killed Thanos. Among them, a deeply disgusting one comes up regularly: the one that wants Ant-Man to easily kill this villain by shrinking and going through Thanos’ anus in order to explode it from the inside. As such, many hilarious memes have sprung up.
Otherwise, The Boys (series that trolls Marvel movies) has reused this theory in its own way since in the first episode of season 3, a superhero named Termite enters the behind of a character before exploding him into a thousand pieces in returning to its original size (like some Fatalities from Mortal Kombat games).
On the occasion of the interactive clip Avengers : Quantum Encounter which is offered to Disney Wish cruise guests, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly have reprized their respective roles as Ant-Man and The Wasp. And the two actors return to this theory, not without humor.
As explained in the excerpt, the superhero refused to use this possibility because it was just disgusting. However, when he tries to explain why the maneuver is much more complex than we think, The Wasp abruptly interrupts him, not really wanting to go into the details.
Marvel is once again proving that it remains attentive to the outlandish theories that fans bring up on social media. And that even a slaughter as savage as it is scatological can be dealt with with pure self-mockery on their part.
You can find Ant-Man in his third solo adventure February 15, 2023 in the highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Not sure, once again, that in this film, the superhero goes into the posterior of his opponents to eliminate them…
