It’s all connected: Kevin Feige and the other masterminds behind the MCU are known to operate in so-called phases. But there is still a saga about each of these phases. Three phases result in a saga, at the end of which there is a big conclusion. The first three phases thus formed the Infinity saga – with “Avengers: Endgame’ as the grand finale.
This is now followed by the Multiverse saga – and the titles say it all: In the first three phases it was the Infinity Stones, which were always present in the background and closely linked to the great threat (Thanos and his plan), it is now for the next three phases, the multiverse. We are currently still at the beginning, namely in the fourth phase overall. However, this will soon come to an end with “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever” in cinemas (start: November 9, 2022).
Because of this, the end credits scene of Black Panther 2 is expected to hold an especially big reveal for the future. Like ten years ago with “The Avengers” At the end of the first phase, “Black Panther 2” as the end of the fourth phase should also provide a clearer picture of the great threat in the background. But unlike back then, we now know a lot about it in advance.
Were then “Avengers 3: Infinity War” and “Avengers 4: Endgame‘ Far off and not even known to the public as an existing saga ending, we already know that “Avengers 5” and “Avengers 6” will form the conclusion of the Multiverse saga. And we already know the titles: “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars. And they tell us a lot.
“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” by “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” author Jeff Loveness and “Shang-Chi” director Destin Daniel Cretton already makes it clear with the title that Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, will take center stage. After his introduction in “Loki” (here still as He-Who-Remains) he has a big role in the upcoming “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” (which is why it stands to reason that Jeff Loveness is writing the screenplay again).
The dynasty in the title invites us at the end that we don’t just get to see one Kang. The character is legendary for traveling wildly through time and thus existing in different places and times. Many variants of Kang could therefore come together – possibly also (think of the title of the saga) from different corners of the multiverse.
You can find out more about Kang in the following video by our Marvel expert Sebastian:
In his video, Sebastian also speculates that a Kang variant could be legendary Marvel villain Doctor Doom. Whether as a Kang version or as a character of his own (which the author of these lines tends to believe in), we can definitely count on Doom as (another) Thanos-esque powerhouse villain in the background.
Currently at “Avengers: Secret Wars‘ from ‘Loki’ and ‘Doctor Strange In “The Multiverse Of Madness” author Michael Waldron (who will direct the film is currently unknown) Doctor Doom could play a key role. He also has that in the comic of the same name.
Put simply, this is about the great conflict between the different universes and the characters living in them. The play in “Doctor Strange 2 “certainly not accidentally teased incursions play a major role (you see, the choice of author is also obvious here), which ensure that all multiverses collide and collapse and in the end only one of them can survive and continue to exist. This is how a gigantic war develops against which the “Endgame” finale is a kindergarten.

How many heroes Marvel could muster here (and each in different variants) will knock the fans’ socks off. and meanwhile, with all the films and series, there are also quite a lot of staff to really bang on here. This will definitely ensure that the finale in “Secret Wars” will once again outperform the sheer size of “Endgame”.
Our Marvel expert Sebastian tells you even more about the history of “Secret Wars” in a video that, by the way, was released directly after “Doctor Strange 2” was created before the announcement was made (so don’t be surprised that he doesn’t refer to it and is still speculating about it).
However, these two films are still a long way off. “Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty‘ is slated to hit theaters on April 30, 2025,’Avengers 6: The Secret Wars“ Then a good year later in early May 2026. On October 16, 2022 you can meanwhile “Avengers: Endgame‘ on TV (at 8.15 p.m. on Sat. 1) and ‘Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever“ will be in cinemas from November 9th.
