Austin Butler played Elvis Presley in Buz Luhrmann’s highly anticipated film “Elvis.”
Adapted from Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic and directed by Denis Villeneuve, “Dune” did not include three major characters from the books. Recently, it was announced that Florence Pugh was in talks for the role of Princess Irulan, one of these characters.
Today, it was announced that Austin Butler was in talks for the role of another important character, Feyd-Rautha. He played the legendary musician Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic “Elvis”. The highly anticipated “Elvis” is scheduled to hit theaters on June 24.
Feyd-Rautha, the nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen and heir to the Baron, is a cunning, evil, and ruthless character who is highly skilled in one-on-one combat. In the 1984 David Lynch adaptation of Dune, the character Feyd was played by musician Sting.
If Florence Pugh and Austin Butler are confirmed to be starring in “Dune: Part Two”, it will only be necessary to find a name to play Emperor Shaddam, one of the important characters that could not be featured in the first movie. The Emperor responsible for sending the Atreides dynasty to Arrakis is also the father of Princess Irulan.
“Dune: Part Two” starring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem is scheduled to begin filming this summer.
