Around the world in 80 days: the series with David Tennant premiered at the Canneséries festival – News Séries on TV


It is the next major production of the Alliance, a conglomerate of three European channels (ZDF, RAI and France Télévisions) brought together to create large-scale audiovisual fictions in the face of competition from American platforms.

Around the World in 80 Days, created by the British producer Simon crawford collins and written the writers Ashley Pharoah and Caleb Ranson offers a new adaptation of the famous adventure novel by Jules Verne.

Composed of eight episodes, the series follows the race around the world of an English gentleman, Phileas Fogg, who made the bet to achieve it in eighty days. Flanked by his servant, Jean Passepartout, and a journalist, Abigail Fix, he will experience incredible adventures during an extraordinary journey taking place in the 19th century.
