The Marvel “Armor Wars” project is evolving. Rather than a series, it will be a film, still worn by Don Cheadle, the interpreter of War Machine. A feature film that should not be released for a while.
Armor Wars yet another Marvel project
In the middle of all the upcoming productions of Marvel (movies for the cinema or series for Disney +), is the project Armor Wars. It is an adaptation of the arch ofIron Man written by David Michelinie and Bob Layton. Inside, Tony Stark discovers that the blueprints for his armor have been stolen and used for another weapon. He then embarks on an investigation to find those responsible.
For the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the story, which is reminiscent of that ofIron Man 2, will necessarily be readjusted. In fact, at the center ofArmor Warsthere will be James Rhodes, aka War Machine, still played by Don Cheadle.
From series to film
Originally, Armor Wars should be a series in six episodes for Disney+. But Deadline has just announced a little change, since the format envisaged would henceforth be that of a feature film. The work written by Yassir Lester should therefore be redesigned to suit more or less two hours.

The decision remains surprising given the big program that awaits Marvel at the cinema. And Armor Wars does not have, on paper and in our opinion, not really the material to create a real enthusiasm in the rooms. However, we can imagine that this film is still found on Disney + rather than in theaters. We have already seen in the past feature films finally end up on the streaming platform. In addition, some Disney series have often displayed lengths and could have fit in a shorter format.
This is obviously a hypothesis and a theatrical release is totally possible for the moment. There is no more information about Armor Wars. The movie still doesn’t have a director and given Marvel’s busy schedule, we should not see it before 2025.
