A nice, comfortable Greyhound bus might probably look good to Archie Panjabi right now, as the hit actor has joined the cast of Snowpiercer. This news features the announcement of the Emmy-winning Good Wife star’s next project, which will solve the mystery of a derailed high-speed train. Snowpiercer returns with its third season on Monday, January 24, 2022, and the first photos have been released, TVLine reports.
Panjabi previously said that she will be playing Asha, which she describes as a character that will make the third season super exciting. Although Panjabi says that Asha managed to survive under the harsh conditions that she believes she is “the last person on earth”, some secrecy still surrounds the character. That’s why her survival instinct kicks in when she’s discovered by someone on the train, says the actress.
From the looks of Unmasked Asha, the character has really been through a lot so far. To portray “the last man on earth,” Panjabi said, “I looked to my dog, Mr. Q, who is a rescue dog, for inspiration. He managed to survive on the streets for months before being rescued. He saw everything as a potential threat. It was all about survival.” In the third season cast, Mike O’Malley (Roche) and Chelsea Harris (Mr. Wilford) were promoted to regular roles.
Season two of the dystopian drama concluded with the Snowpiercer/Big Alice train bursting in two. Then Layton’s modern, 10-car “pirate train” doubles down to find stranded engineer Melanie Cavill. Unfortunately, Layton and Alex would discover that Melanie had not survived her prolonged isolation at a remote research station. In the new season, perhaps we will come across as having dealt with this. Snowpiercer has been confirmed for a fourth season with an announcement made in July.
