Currently in full filming, “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” is revealed in the first images shown on the occasion of the DC Fandome. The sequel, still directed by James Wan, intends to hit harder than the previous part.
James Wan comes back to DC for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom
James Wan returned to a more modest, horror-oriented cinema with Malignant. The returns are divided on his subject but the director obviously does not have too much time to think about it since he connects the projects. Here he is back in the DC galaxy with Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, the sequel to its 2018 hit. As a reminder, the film reported 1, 148 billion during his career in the gym. It is only natural that a sequel was launched, always with the director on board. Jason Momoa is obviously keeping the lead role, while Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Randall Park, Patrick Wilson and Dolph Lundgren will all return.
The story is likely to linger on Necrus, a water town known in the comics for a very special feature. Indeed, she constantly changes position and is never twice in the same place. If the scenario does indeed take place in these places, we should meet the tyrant Mongo, a villain who brings terror to the city. With a release scheduled for December 14, 2022, Aquaman 2 will have plenty of time to introduce himself to us.
The feature film was on the DC Fandome schedule but we didn’t know if the studio was going to be able to send out a trailer or a teaser. With filming still in progress, Warner did not show footage from the film. Instead, we were able to discover a video that immerses us behind the scenes. Cool content for the fans but impossible to learn much more about the script.
The characters we know are present, including Black Manta who seems to want to fight again. His comeback makes sense given that the post-credits scene from the first film showed him still alive. We could also see Jason Momoa in his new costume and especially some really beautiful concept art, some of which feature monsters!
