Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV + has been putting a high point in offering ambitious creations to its subscribers. For science fiction enthusiasts, the options are plentiful with the See, Foundation and Invasion series, and the recent Finch.

SEE

Among the first series unveiled at the launch of the Apple TV + platform in 2019, See plunges viewers into a distant future where a terrible virus has blinded decimated humanity. While men have had to learn to live differently, the birth of twins with the ability to see will force Baba Voss, the leader of the Alkenny clan, to face a powerful queen determined to destroy them.

Carried by the imposing Jason Momoa in the role of the protective and reckless leader, this series which mixes science fiction and fantasy also brings together Sylvia Hoeks, Alfre Woodard and Hera Hilmar, joined by Dave Bautista in the second season.

It is to Steven Knight, creator of the excellent Peaky Blinders, that we owe this post-apocalyptic universe which offers viewers breathtaking scenery and very successful combat scenes. Renewed for a third round of episodes, (re) discover the first two seasons of See on Apple TV +.

FOUNDATION

Another equally complex and captivating universe, the anticipation series Foundation brings for the first time to the screen the successful saga of the master of the genre, Isaac Asimov. This Apple Original creation follows the journey of a group of exiles sent to the far reaches of the galaxy to build a new civilization, the Foundation, to save humanity.

Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Beast Must Die) lends his features to Professor Hari Seldon, who specializes in psychohistory, a science that predicts the future through mathematics. One of his omens? The imminent fall of the Galactic Empire. A prophecy that obviously does not please its leaders, including Brother Day, played by Lee Pace, known for his roles in the The Hobbit trilogy and in the MCU.

While the first ten episodes of this ambitious work by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman are now available on Apple TV +, a sequel has already been ordered by the platform.

INVASION

Launched last October on Apple TV +, and still being aired, the Invasion series sees Sam Neill as the sheriff of a small town and an impressive cast – Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson and Shioli Kutsuna in the lead – facing off against an alien invasion.

As chaos reigns on Earth, five ordinary people scattered around the world struggle to make sense of the events they witness. Created by Simon Kinberg (the X-Men saga) and David Weil (Hunters), Invasion takes the time to set up its mysterious plot and develop its characters over its seven episodes currently available.

As for the soundtrack, some will surely recognize the style of Max Richter, already at work on the acclaimed The Leftovers. Discover the first season of this sci-fi series now.

FINCH

It is from a rather surprising family that the spectators will meet in Finch, a film already available on Apple TV +: accompanied by his beloved dog and a robot he has just built, engineer Finch is at the looking for a new home for himself and his companions.

In the title role, we find a Tom Hanks, again alone in the world… or almost. Behind his endearing robot Jeff hides actor Caleb Landry Jones, awarded the Cannes Film Festival’s Best Actor Award in 2021 for his performance in the thriller Nitram.

Director Miguel Sapochnik signs here his second feature film after Repo Men, which has already proven its worth on many series, starting with Game of Thrones. We owe him six episodes of the fantastic series, including the unforgettable Battle of the Bastards.

Find all these Apple Original creations on the Apple TV + platform.
