Annecy 2021: the Franco-Scandinavian film Flee receives the Cristal for best feature film

The jury of the Annecy festival this year rewarded the Franco-Scandinavian film “Flee”, an animated documentary devoted to the life of a former Afghan refugee who became a university professor in Denmark.

The Annecy 2021 festival is (already) over! At the end of an edition rich in surprises, the jury returned its final verdict by awarding the awards for Best Feature Films to documentary Flee and Brazilian stop-motion film Bob Cuspe, Nós não gostamos.

For its sixtieth anniversary, the Annecy festival this year offered many fascinating panels, a retrospective devoted to African animated cinema, or even magnificent exhibitions organized throughout the city. A program up to expectations, especially as this 2021 edition marked the reunion with the spectators, two years after the last “physical” edition of the festival.

This new edition will also have been an opportunity to project into the future, with the first images of expected feature films such as Space Jam: New Era with NBA superstar LeBron James, Ron Unblocks the new Disney production in theaters on October 21 next or Inu-Oh, the new nugget of Japanese filmmaker Masaaki Yuasa (Devilman Crybaby).
