Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, and director Paul Feig reunite for the sequel to “A Simple Favor”.
The 2018 film “A Simple Favor”, which oscillates between thriller, mystery, and comedy genres, told the story of a young woman trying to find her friend who has suddenly disappeared. A busy businesswoman, Emily one day makes a “little request” to her vlogger mother friend, Stephanie, who is raising her child alone. What is required of Stephanie is for Emily to pick up her five-year-old son from school. What surprises Stephanie, who fulfills the request, is Emily’s unexpected disappearance. When the phones and messages fail to reach Emily, Stephanie also activates the followers of her vlog. But the real nightmare begins when Stephanie and Emily’s husband finally reach Emily after their anxious search…
The movie, which also includes Henry Golding, star of the movie “Crazy Rich Asians”, was a huge commercial success for Lionsgate with a box office gross of over $97 million, and at the end of the movie, the door was left open for a possible sequel. The plot of the sequel has not yet been announced, but Paul Feig will again be the director of the project. The cast, except Kendrick and Lively, is expected to be announced in the coming days.
