After making “Escape at Dannemora”, Ben Stiller tackles another series with “Severance”. The series will be available on February 18 on Apple TV +. It is revealed in a first mysterious teaser.
The story of Severance
Although it bears the same title as an excellent black comedy where Danny Dyer and Laura Harris see their team building end up in a massacre (we are talking about the film Severence from 2006), the new series directed and produced by Ben Stiller will have nothing to do with it. In the series Severance, we will follow Mark Scout, an employee of Lumon Industries who leads a team whose members undergo surgery for separate their memories related to their professional life and those related to their private life. This risky experience which aims to draw a line between work and personal life is called into question when Mark finds himself at the heart of a mystery that will force him to face the true nature of his work… and his own.
A very mysterious synopsis, as much as the first trailer unveiled by Apple. In the video (in an article), we see the members accept this operation without complaining. But as a result their minds should be clouded and there might be confusion between what is real and what is not.
In the casting of the Apple series
Although Ben Stiller is directing, the creation of the series has been entrusted to Dan Erickson. On the distribution side, we find a very nice cast with Adam scott in the role of Mark. At his side, we find the veterans John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette. Well-known names accompanied by Britt Lower (High Maintenance), Zach Cherry (You), Dichen Lachman (Jurassic World: The World After), Jen Tullock (Before You Know It) and Michael Chernus (Orange is the New Black).
Severance will be available on Apple TV + from February 18, 2022. The first two episodes will first be available on the streaming service. Then new episodes will be added every week for a total of nine episodes.
