It was revealed last week to everyone’s surprise that Amy Hennig and her new studio are currently working on an all-new game set in the Marvel Hero Universe. Officially, little information has been communicated about this new title. However, it could be that a big piece of the puzzle has just been found.
The heroes at the heart of the Marvel game developed by Amy Hennig’s studio have already leaked. And according to this leak, it would be about Ant-Man or the Fantastic Four. The information was revealed indirectly by the Fatman Beyond podcast by American filmmaker Kevin Smith.
Marc Bernardin, the podcast’s co-host, is also working on Amy Hennig’s Marvel game. And he revealed his involvement during the last episode of Fatman Beyond. According to him, he has been working on the game’s story for about a year:
I spent most of the pandemic working with a woman named Amy Hennig. She created, wrote and directed the games Uncharted. They announced this week that the game we’ve been working on is being produced in partnership with Marvel. That’s all I can say about it. But I spent most of a year in the storyline mines imagining a Marvel video game.
Kevin Smith (almost) lets go
Marc Bernardin was therefore careful and did not reveal too much about his project. It was what happened next that made it possible to learn more about this Amy Hennig x Marvel game. Indeed, Kevin Smith said afterwards that Fatman Beyond’s cat immediately found out about the game’s license..
According to Ben Hanson, videographer and former producer at Game Informer, the names evoked by the cat from Fatman Beyond were Ant-Man and the Fantastic Four. Unfortunately for the curious, neither Kevin Smith nor Marc Bernardin added anything more. Those interested will therefore have to be satisfied with that for the moment.
An ambitious Marvel game on paper
To date, Skydance New Media has simply indicated that their game will feature a story and interpretation “completely new“from the Marvel universe. Amy Hennig had meanwhile indicated that her title will allow players”embody the heroes they love. “
Even though there are several heroes associated with Ant-Man, this use of the plural is more reminiscent of the Fantastic Four. To be sure, however, you will need to be patient.
Finally, let’s remember that Skydance New Media’s Marvel game will be an AAA Action-Adventure game. Neither its release date nor its platforms have been announced yet.
What do you think of these new elements? Do you think this is about an Ant-Man game or a Fantastic Four adventure? Which heroes would you prefer Amy Hennig to be interested in?
