Series jack-of-all-trades Ryan Murphy and his “American Horror Story” co-creator Brad Falchuk are once again making a big secret of season 11 of their anthology horror hit about what the new episodes are actually about – even though these are already launch in the US in less than a week. Recently, however, it was at least revealed that the eleventh season will be called “American Horror Story: NYC”. So it should be clear that the new story of the long-running TV hit takes us to New York City this time.
However, there were no real details about the content, especially since a real trailer is still a long time coming. After all, in the course of the title announcement, it was revealed what the cast of the new season will look like. And with a slew of fresh character posters, we’re already getting a glimpse of what the cast and actresses look like in their roles (the motifs also suggest that the Big Apple’s nightclub scene may play a crucial role in the story).
Once again, the cast consists of well-known “American Horror Story” faces and some newcomers. Fans of the series should be particularly pleased that “Star Trekstar Zachary Quinto will be making an AHS comeback ten years after he starred in the hugely popular second season. And fan-favorite Denis O’Hare will also be starring for the first time since season 6, after a minor guest role in season 10.
However, there is also bad news for die-hard “AHS” fans, or two at once, since THE figureheads of the series are not part of the game in Season 11: Both Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will not appear in “NYC.” making it only the second time they’ve been away from an AHS season (they’d previously only been absent from season nine of “1984”). For Peters, at least, it could be because he recently had his hands full with another Ryan Murphy series (which, by the way, is currently breaking record after record on Netflix) with his leading role in “Dahmer”.
These actors have appeared in previous seasons:
- Zachary Quinto plays Sam
- Denis O’Hare plays Henry
- Billie Lourd plays Hannah
- Leslie Grossman plays Barbara Read
- Rebecca Dayan plays Alana
- Patti LuPone plays Kathy
- Sandra Bernhard plays Fran
- Isaac Powell plays Theo
These actors are “AHS” newbies:
- Charlie Carver plays Adam Carpenter
- Kal Penn plays Mac Marzara
- Kyle Beltran plays Morris
- Joe Mantello plays Gino Barelli
- Sis plays Dunaway
The eleventh season of “American Horror Story” starts in the USA on October 19, 2022. There is no German date yet. Season 10 last celebrated its premiere here two months after the US start on the pay-TV broadcaster ProSieben Fun and later also ended up on Disney+. Whether it will be similar this time is still unclear. Meanwhile, you can while away the wait a bit with the second season of the spin-off “American Horror Stories”, which premieres on October 12, 2022 on Disney+.
