The American Film Institute shared its selection of the best movies and TV shows, including Dune and The Power of the Dog.
As every year, the best production selections started to be shared with the end of this year. The American Film Institute (AFI) has also listed the best productions of 2021, consisting of movies and TV series that meet with the audience in 2021. AFI’s films and TV series of the year, which draw attention with their diversity, consist of 10 productions each.
Apart from the main category, AFI honored three productions with special awards. Among these productions are the UK made Belfast, the South Korean made Squid Game and the Searchlight documentary Summer of Soul…(Or, When the Revolution Could Not be Televised).
Lin-Manuel Miranda received the special award last year with Hamilton. The director, who directed a feature film for the first time this year, managed to enter the AFI Movies of the Year list with Tick Tick Boom. Other Netflix movies on the list are Don’t Look Up and The Power of the Dog.
Dune, Licorice Pizza and The Tragedy of Macbeth, which are in the movie list, are not surprising, but Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Lost Daughter, which is thought to be talked about in the Oscar race, Aaron Sorkin’s Being the Ricardos and Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci and The Last Duel are on the list. did not receive.
In addition to world-renowned TV series such as Succession, Maid and Mare of Easttown, there is also WandaVision, which serves the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
