Every day DashFUN shares with you the highlights and films discovered at the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival which is held until January 23, 2022. The day of January 19 was marked by a vibrant tribute to Gaspard Ulliel.

A day under the sign of emotion in Alpe d’Huez where the news of the sudden death, this Wednesday, January 19, of Gaspard Ulliel was in everyone’s mind. The Festival paid him a vibrant tribute during the evening session, in the presence of Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the Cannes Festival, whose arrival was already planned to present some comic nuggets from the beginnings of cinema.

After a long standing ovation in memory of the actor, Thierry Frémaux paid tribute to him by reading the words of Catherine Jacob, president of the Lumière Institute, and Xavier Dolan, filmmaker who had directed him in Only the end of the world.

The evening continued with the presentation in preview and in competition of Irréductible, a new feature film by Jérôme Commandeur. Still in competition, festival-goers were able to discover La classe internationale, by Frédéric Quiring with Melha Bedia, Audrey Fleurot and Arié Elmaleh, and finally the Special Session of the President, So we dance by Michèle Laroque.

Spotlight on these three films soon in theaters.

Irreducible – Competition

SND

by and with Jérôme Commandeur, with Laetitia Dosch, Pascale Arbillot, Gérard Darmon, Christian Clavier, Valérie Lemercier, Karim Wallet, Hubert Myon, Estéban…
Released June 29, 2022

Charged with skimming the Civil Service, a slightly overzealous ministerial inspector will use all the means in her power… But Vincent Peltier, a peaceful civil servant at the Waters and Forests in Limoges, is not at all determined to give up his “guaranteed” job. for life” ! The war of nerves has only just begun when she transfers him to the worst corners of France, to the North Pole…

6 years later My family already adores you, Jérôme Commandeur returns with Irreducible, an adventure comedy, promising a change of scenery and lots of twists. We find in this film the impertinence and the malice of the comedian and actor. The cast surrounding Jérôme Commandeur in the main role works wonderfully: Laetitia Dosch, Pascale Arbillot, Esteban and even Gérard Darmon. Special mentions to Valérie Lemercier and Christian Clavier in a totally unexpected and irresistible role!

The International Class – competition

Alpe d'Huez 2022: a vibrant tribute to Gaspard Ulliel

by Frédéric Quiring, with Melha Bedia, Audrey Fleurot, François Berléand…
Release July 20, 2022

Sofia is a young French teacher, martyred by her students. Believing at last to hold the mutation of her dreams, she launches into an explosive farewell and savors her revenge. Problem: her transfer is frozen, she is now in competition with a professor with an irreproachable CV and her students, more reassembled than ever, are determined to make her pay for her words. Lies at the academy, low blows to her competitor, seduction campaign…Sofia is ready to do anything to get her exit certificate!

After Forte, Melha Bedia confirms her comic potential in this first role in The International Class, in which she plays a funny and endearing teacher. She is surrounded by tasty supporting roles, such as Arié Elmaleh or Audrey Fleurot. A comedy whose driving force is the theme of reconciliation, that of a teacher with her vocation, but also that of the students with their education.
Release planned in the heart of the summer holidays, July 20, 2022.

So let’s dance – The President’s Session

Alpe d'Huez 2022: a vibrant tribute to Gaspard Ulliel
UGC Distribution

by and with Michèle Laroque, with Isabelle Nanty, Thierry Lhermitte, Patrick Timsit…
Released March 23, 2022

Determined to take control of her life after discovering her husband’s infidelities, Sandra takes refuge with her sister Danie. Opposite to each other, they find themselves around their common passion: dance. With the nickel-plated feet of the choreography, Lucien and Roberto, friends of her sister, Sandra finally finds the freedom and the touch of madness that her life was missing. A new life begins: because we all have the right to a second dance!

After Rumba life, it’s dancing again in Alpe d’Huez, this time with Michèle Laroque, surrounded by Isabelle Nanty, Patrick Timsit or Thierry Lhermitte. This 3rd feature film, which she directs and co-writes, is adapted from a British comedy little known in France, Finding your feet. The film mixes humor and tenderness, carried by a nice cast. Special mention to Sofiane Chalal, dancer and choreographer, who appears in the film and made the whole Festival palace dance during the opening.
