Al Pacino made an unlikely and fun appearance on stage at The Game Awards 2022. The actor was on hand to present the award for best performance during the video game awards ceremony.

On the night of December 8 to 9 took place The Game Awards 2022. An important meeting for the world of video games, equivalent of the Oscars in cinema, which does not hesitate to put the means to offer significant moments. Because if games have already gone to look for celebrities from other mediums (like Léa Seydoux with the game death stranding), the ceremony does the same to increase its popularity.

The actor came to deliver the award for Best Performance of the Year. We could see the cheerful reaction in the room (Manon Gage’s “wow” of the game immortality), while the star made no secret of his excitement while admitting it was an “unexpected experience” for him. And even though he had a hard time reading his teleprompter, he managed to give the prize to Christopher Judge for God of War Ragnarok.
The actor continues to surprise
Al Pacino is obviously not the one we would first associate with the world of video games. The actor is clearly from another generation, which makes it all the more touching his intervention because done with envy. Remember that in more than fifty years of career, Al Pacino had the opportunity to appear in a number of roles, all more varied from each other. We could see him as a cop or as a hoodlum, as a Mafia Godfather or as an American football team coach, as a junkie or a desperate robber, and even as Satan!
In recent years, her roles have been less notable, although it was very nice to see her appear for a scene in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (2019) and especially in The Irishman (2019) by Martin Scorsese. Failing to see him be nominated for the next Oscars, we will therefore be satisfied with this appearance on a stage dedicated to video games.
