Recently, Apple unveiled model number 3 of its famous AirPods wireless earphones. The first question that comes to mind is: what are the differences with the AirPods 2?
Releasing a new AirPods model is good, but offering real differences with the old version is even better. This time the AirPods 3 come, in terms of novelties, to place a little between the tradition of AirPods 2 and the more premium side of AirPods Pro. An in-between which remains however on a price (expensive) but classic at Apple namely 199 euros. That is to say as much as generation 2 when they left, which now benefit from a drop to 150 euros.
New design for a new life
The ear cup design retains the AirPods 2 “stems”, but shortens them to resemble AirPods Pro. On the other side, the AirPods 3 The Pro’s are also inspired by the case, which loses in height but gains in width. The design allows in particular to better adapt to all ear morphologies.
What features for AirPods?
The AirPods 3 relinquish the direction of the tap controls for use in pinching. For those who are afraid of losing their little tech toy, know that they offer a location system like AirTags (Apple’s famous keychain).
And gain the possibility of being located in the manner of AirTags with the Apple app. Finally, know that optical sensors disappear for digital sensors to offer better detection of the earpiece in your ears.
What about the battery?
As we know, autonomy on wireless headphones is essential. Thus, the battery life of AirPods 3 is six hours when fully charged which is an hour more than version 2. And with the case, the headphones have a total battery life of 30 hours. Generation 2 with case have a 24 hour battery life. Isn’t life beautiful?
Headphones are available from Apple at the price of 199 euros.
