While we are already expecting it in the series devoted to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen will continue to operate in the Star Wars universe on the small screen. The actor will reprise the role of Anakin / Darth Vader in the “Ahsoka” series with Rosario Dawson.
Ahsoka Tano, a character adored by fans
Series The Mandalorian received the approval of Star Wars fans, thanks to its ability to blend elements of theatrical trilogies with those of the animated projects. In season 2, we saw Ahsoka Tano appear during an exceptional episode. The arrival of this character in the series in live action was eagerly awaited by the fans. To satisfy them even more, an entire series will be developed on Ahsoka, always with Rosario Dawson to play it. Lucasfilm and Disney are betting on the small screen by multiplying the projects. This one is particularly envious, because it will allow to learn more about a figure adored by the fans. If the qualitative level is at least equivalent to that of The Mandalorian, satisfaction will be present.
We do not yet know how the scenario will position itself in relation to the general timeline. Logic would like it to be placed after season 2 of The Mandalorian, following Ahsoka who tracks Thrawn across the galaxy, hoping to find Ezra’s trail. A narrative line that would thus extend the end of the animated series Rebels.
Hayden Christensen doubly back in the Star Wars universe
Information is scarce at this point and the studio is playing the radio silence card. Fortunately, we can count on the American press to provide new information. In this case, it is this time The Hollywood Reporter which reveals thatHayden Christensen will be cast for the series. The actor played Anakin Skywalker in the prelogy, which remains the most defining role of his career. Moreover, we already know that he will be back for Kenobi, another show expected on Disney +.
The absence of concrete elements makes it impossible to know how the character will appear in Ahsoka. If the plot unfolds around the same time as that of The Mandalorian, we will be after Return of the Jedi and this implies that Vader is dead. As a result, we should expect to see him shine in flashbacks. Anyway, that Anakin / Vader is in the series makes sense then Ahsoka Tano is closely linked to him having been his padawan.
Production could begin in 2022 and airing on Disney + is likely to take place the following year.
