Unstoppable Steven Spielberg! While he is currently working on his semi-autobiographical project “The Fabelmans”, the immense American director is already on the spot for another feature film that will center on the character of Frank Bullitt.
Steven Spielberg connects the projects
While we are sorry for the low score achieved by the yet so beautiful West Side Story (only $70 million raised worldwide), Steven Spielberg does not have time to think about this failure. He is currently working on The Fabelmans, a film that is particularly close to his heart because he will be inspired by his own life. At least, from his childhood, when he was in Arizona and he knew his first emotions for the cinema.
We can’t wait to see how such a big name will deliver when he has already addressed personal motives on many occasions in certain works. The main character will be played by the young Gabriel LaBelle, while the excellent Michelle Williams and Paul Dano will play the parents. Seth Rogen or David Lynch (!) are also in the cast. The Fabelmans disembark the next November 23 on our screens and Steven Spielberg is already working on the aftermath.
Bullitt back soon
Deadline tells us that he is now working on a project that is interested in the character of Frank Bullitt. Moviegoers already know him since it was Steve McQueen who played him in the 60s.
the original movie, Bullitt, follows a police lieutenant charged with protecting a mobster until he can testify at a trial. However, the man is murdered, thus pushing the policeman to carry out an investigation in order to discover who the culprits are. With his muscular methods, he does not take long to make sparks. According to the American media, it should not be strictly speaking a remake but rather from a new original story. It is still too early to know more about the script that will have to sign Josh Singer.
Steven Spielberg has been planning to bring the character of Bullitt back to the screens for a while and it was necessary to negotiate with the McQueen clan to win the rights. E
obviously, the fact that he wants to take control of the project is a not insignificant guarantee of quality that weighed in the negotiations. Chad and Molly McQueen, Steve’s son and granddaughter respectively, will be involved as executive producers.
Since everything Spielberg does is interesting, we’re curious to see how he’ll tackle crime fiction (a genre almost non-existent in his filmography) and what he’ll do with Bullitt. The project could take some time to materialize, so much so that Deadline specifies that the director could take care of another realization before this one.
