Warner TV has just announced the start of filming in Reims for Visitors, its first original French series created, written and directed by Simon Astier, who also plays a role and produced by MakingProd (La Flamme, Chérif). The pitch: “It’s Richard’s first day in the police force. At nightfall, two strange lights collide in the sky …”.

Composed of 8 episodes of 26 minutes, this fiction, a clever mix of comedy and science fiction, was born after winning a call for projects launched at the Séries Mania festival in March 2019. Out of 180 proposals, Visitors succeeded. to hold the attention of Warner TV.

And given Simon Astier’s serial CV, the series promises to be pretty crazy. The young man, who became known in Kaamelott, a humorous pastille created by his half-brother Alexandre Astier, indeed launched in 2005 his own series, Hero Corp, broadcast on France 4 until 2017.

He also recently donned his director’s cap to shoot three episodes of the first season of Netflix’s original creation, Mortal.

On the casting side, Simon Astier will be starring among others Florence Loiret Caille (Le bureau des Légedes), Damien Jouillerot (Baron Noir), Vincent Desagnat (Babysitting), Tiphaine Daviot (Zone Blanche), Grégoire Ludig and David Marsais of the “Palmashow“, and comedian Arnaud Tsamere with whom he had previously worked on Hero Corp.

Launched in 2017, Warner TV already has a very extensive catalog of exclusive foreign series. She thus broadcasts the comedy Miracle Workers, with Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi, the thriller The Flight Attendant, with Kaley Cuoco and the science fiction series of Ridley Scott Raised by Wolves.
