For his new Netflix series adapted from Edgar Allan Poe’s classic, “The Fall of the House of Usher”, Mike Flanagan brings together a prestigious cast made up, among others, of Mark Hamill.

Mike Flanagan continues his collaboration with Netflix. After Midnight Sermons, his latest creation released last September on the platform, the author is preparing a new adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s new gothic, The Fall of House Usher. Many times transposed to the screen, the classic here takes the form of a series of 8 episodes with an exceptional cast.
Mark Hamill, eternal Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, leaves the dubbing aside and joins the cast of the program in a role still kept secret. He is surrounded by Frank Langella (The Box, Chicago Seven), who will play Roderick Usher, the patriarch of House Usher. Mary McDonnell (Dancing with the wolves) will play his sick twin sister, Madeline and Carl Lumbly will lend his features to the cult character of Edgar Allan Poe, Auguste Dupin. Carla Gugino, who has worked with Mike Flanagan on several occasions, will also be present in a role as yet unknown.
The Fall of House Usher tells the tragic fate of Roderick Usher, descendant of a large family, who sinks into madness after the death of his twin sister, Madeline. In Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, this story is told through the words of the narrator, one of the main actors of the story.
This new series signs the creator’s fifth project with Netflix. After The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, Midnight Sermons, Mike Flanagan will return in 2022 with another horror production, The Midnight Club.
