The sought-after star of action movies, Gerard Butler, and the creator and screenwriter of the John Wick series starring Keanu Reeves, Derek Kolstad, are teaming up for a new action movie.
The heist-themed action movie, whose screenplay will be penned by Derek Kolstad, will be adapted from the novel “Just Watch Me” by Jeff Lindsay, the screenwriter of the TV series Dexter. “Just Watch Me,” the first in a series of books centered around the character of Riley Wolfe, follows Wolfe, a master thief, and disguise expert who targets the world’s wealthiest one-thousandth.
The book tells the story of the lovable villain Wolfe, who, along with a master counterfeiter named Monique, and a team of expert thieves, take action on a heist job that will go down in history.
The film, which will be financed by Sculptor Media, the company behind productions such as Copshop, The Marksman, and Honest Thief, is scheduled to begin shooting in the fall of 2022. Apart from Gerard Butler, who will star and play the character of Riley Wolfe, it is not yet known which names will take part in the movie.
Derek Kolstad said of the film: “As both a fan and friend of Jeff Lindsay, I’m excited to bring Just Watch Me to the screen. I can’t wait to see Gerard Butler bring Riley Wolfe to film with the incredible team of Dylan Russell, Scott Steindorff, Alan Siegel, Raven, and Sculptor Media.”
