Old wine in new bottles? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! “Creed” and “Creed II” have impressively demonstrated that the “Rocky” franchise still has new impulses to wring not only in terms of production but also in terms of narrative. The two spin-offs keep the spirit of the original series, but expand on it in mostly distinct ways. An absolute win is Michael B. Jordan, who not only makes eyes wide open with his remarkable physique, but also works excellently as a character actor.
With “Creed III“ The next offshoot of the “Rocky” series awaits us, in which Michael B. Jordan can no longer only be seen in front of the camera, but also takes up the director’s post for the first time. If that works, we’ll see on March 2, 2023, when “Creed III“ then starts in German cinemas. In any case, the first trailer that has now appeared not only promises an action-packed, but also a rather emotional return to the ring.

In “Creed IIIMichael B. Jordan (“Black Panther”) has to deal with Jonathan Majors (“Lovecraft Country”), who slips into the role of Damian “Dame” Anderson. Next year we’ll also see Majors in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania (release date: February 15, 2023), where he will play the villain villain Kang.
Also joining the cast are (again) Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago and Phylicia Rashad as Apollo Creed’s mother. That Sylvester Stallone in “Creed III’ isn’t included for a simple reason: he didn’t know how to fit into the story. A short cameo is not completely ruled out.
The script for “Creed III’ comes from Keenan Coogler, brother of Ryan Coogler, maker of previous Creed films, and Zach Baylin (‘King Richard”). Once again, it will be about the fact that both Creed and his opponent Anderson Dame have to learn the hard way that they cannot escape their past. A motto that Rocky brought to mind again and again so as not to lose sight of his roots. This makes it clear: Not only strong fight choreographies await us, but also great feelings.
