The RTX 30 shortage is still alive, and Nvidia wants to turn the scales a bit by offering hybrid RTX 2060s to its customers.
Even if the market is gradually improving, it is still quite difficult to find certain Nvidia RTX 30 graphics cards. We learned last September that the manufacturer was going to release RTX 2060s in 2021 (or 2022) sauce. This time we can learn a little more through the indiscretions of the very informed VideoCardz.
A hybrid Made in Nvidia
This famous card Nvidia RTX 2060 12 GB would have the same configuration as the RTX 2060 Super BUT with a slightly different memory configuration than the classic RTX 2060. Indeed, the number of CUDA cores would be 2176 against 1920 CUDA cores for the 2060. We would therefore clearly be on a hybrid between two GPUs. Regarding the boost clock, two sources explain that this is a 1650 MHz boost by default with variants overclocked (at the factory) to 1690 MHz.
Very similar technically, the RTX 2060 12 GB would however have a TDP of 184 W, compared to 175 W for the RTX 2060 Super. Consumption would therefore be greater. Finally, the bus would be 192 bits against a 256 bit bus on the Super variant.
Here’s what to remember:
- GPU : 12 nm TU106
- CUDA : 2176
- Clock : 1650 MHz
- Memory : 12 GB
- Memory bus : 192 Bits
- TDP : 184 Watts
Under the Christmas tree ?
Also according to information from VideoCardz, the launch of the cards should be scheduled for the December 7, 2021. What, we hope, put under the tree one of these pretty Nvidia toys. What we hope is that this will help meet the expectations of some customers. Especially those who are desperate to be able to make a PC configuration but who can not afford the current prices of RTX 30.
This RTX 2060 12 GB should logically be around 300 euros. Surely a little more if it runs out on supplier shelves.
