Virtual reality is the future, at least part of it with the metaverse. And some manufacturers are preparing the arrival of hatpic jackets like Actronika to make the whole thing even more impressive.
Actronika is a French company that wishes to present at CES 2022 (January 5-January 8, 2022) Skinetic. Skinetic what is it? This is a haptic jacket to further enhance the immersion of virtual reality. The opportunity to make the metaverse objective even more “tangible” and real.
A bit like for haptic gloves (which we were talking about here). The goal is to be able to reproduce sensations from the real world in the virtual world. We can imagine thus, a bit like the film Ready Player One receive shocks depending on what is happening in the virtual (the impact of a ball) or on the contrary feel pressure during a fall. In short, an invention that can be used in abundance depending on the type of game.
Gilles Meyer – CEO of Actronika. Explain :
A few gamers are starting to add the sense of touch to VR. However, the tactile illusions are still very flat. We decided to take this technology from black and white to color!
The other stage of virtual reality
Mechanically the vest incorporates 20 patented vibrotactile coil motors, capable of generating a wide range of vibrations that covers 100% of human vibrotactile perception. In other words, the whole torso should be able to benefit from the technology. Virtual reality, on a much different level.
This future is quite near since Skinetic plan to make its creation available for pre-order during a Kickstarter campaign that will be launched on March 22, 2022, as pointed out by our colleagues at Techpowerup. Now imagine a virtual world with the haptic gloves, the haptic jacket and the ultralight headset. Dystopia or utopia? Up to you.
