Announced with great fanfare during the Game Awards ceremony, Star Wars Eclipse is still very mysterious. Developed by Quantic Dream, could the title be inspired by The Last Of Us?
The man who leaked Star Wars Eclipse before its time, a certain @accngt on Twitter has just made new revelations. If his message has since been deleted, this is what we could read:
-Traditional action gameplay (Jedi Fallen Order-like for combat to have an example)
– A mix of story and gameplay (The Last Of Us took as an inspiration)
– Quantic Dream Montreal are working on gameplay prototypes
– They have difficulty hiring staff
What to expect ?
That’s a lot of information but the most important is undoubtedly a gameplay inspired by The Last of Us is therefore very clearly a narrative action-adventure game. This remains to be taken with the tweezers of circumstance even if the liabilities of this insider seem quite serious. At least as far as Star Wars Eclipse is concerned…
The game just starting to be born, Quantic Dream Montreal would be working on various prototypes of gameplay with potentially multiplayer. Finally, the studio would have difficulty recruiting following the LeMonde/Mediapart/Quantic Dream business. A nice skewer of information which is all the more complex to interpret as the game is not planned for several long years (we are even talking about 2026).
There is little chance that Quantic Dream will officially communicate on this rumor about its Star Wars game.
