We have very good news for “Planet of the Apes 4”. The next film is moving forward and will begin production in a month for release in 2024. To wait, a first visual has been unveiled.
Franchise The Planet of the Apes still alive
It’s from the novel The Planet of the Apes (1963) by Pierre Boulle that was born the immense frankness that we know today. Of the, a first film with Charlton Heston was released in 1968. The latter played an astronaut who lands on a planet where apes have evolved and dominate while humans have been enslaved. It is only at the end of the feature film that we understand that it is not about another planet, but aboutnear future.
Four other films were made until 1973. Then, it was not until 2001 that Tim Burton offers a remake which will not give rise to the slightest sequel. And this, despite a solid result at the box office (more than 360 million receipts in the world).

We finally have to wait until 2011 for the start a new trilogy with Planet of the Apes origins. This is where we discovered how the monkeys began to evolve (becoming more intelligent and aware) before fleeing the human world to regain their freedom. An effective revival of the franchise with the monkey Caesar (Andy Serkis) in the center.
He is the hero of the two sequels directed by Matt Reeves – before he tackles The Batman (2022) -, Planet of the Apes: The Showdown (2014) and Planet of the Apes: Supremacy (2017). It is in particular thanks to the writing of this fascinating and empathetic character, as well as the proposals for staging by Matt Reeves, that the trilogy was a success.
An image and a casting for the next film
The saga could have ended there given the very good conclusion proposed by Matt Reeves. But on the side of Disney, which had not yet been able to take advantage of the franchise since the takeover of Fox, it was decided otherwise. A new movie is on the way and we already knew who was in charge of directing it. It is Wes Ball, the man behind the trilogy The labyrinth.
New elements have just been revealed via Twitter (end of article). The official film account The Planet of the Apes first offers us a title. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in original version. Then we learn production will begin next month for a release planned for 2024.
Finally, on the casting side, Owen Teague (That), Peter Macon (The Orville) and especially Freya Allan (Ciri in The Witcher) will be the stars of this film. And to make us salivate, we are offered a nice first visual showing a monkey on a horse in a world in ruins where nature has taken over…
